Galaxy S26 Ultra to Keep Same Cameras with Small Upgrade

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to make its debut in late February 2026, continuing Samsung’s long-running Ultra series. However, if recent leaks are accurate, fans shouldn’t expect major changes in the camera department this time.

According to a reliable tipster, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly retain the same camera hardware as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with only a minor change to one of its telephoto lenses. The existing 10MP 3x telephoto sensor is said to be replaced by a new 12MP Samsung S5K3LD sensor, which should deliver slightly sharper zoom shots and improved color detail.

The rest of the setup remains familiar: a 200MP Samsung HP2 main camera, a 50MP JN3 ultrawide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX854 periscope telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom. On the front, Samsung is expected to use a 12MP Sony IMX874 sensor for selfies, similar to the previous model.

Interestingly, the leak also mentions a new APV video codec option, which could enhance video compression efficiency and overall recording quality.

While some may find the lack of big hardware changes disappointing, Samsung might be focusing on software-based improvements and better image processing this time around something the company has excelled at in recent years.

With the launch expected around February 2026, more details about the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s performance and camera capabilities are likely to surface in the coming months.
