Apple has rolled out iOS 26.4 Developer Beta 2 to registered developers, marking the second beta of the forthcoming iOS 26.4 update. The build was seeded on March 3, 2026, continuing Apple’s beta cadence as it prepares the software for a wider public launch in the coming weeks.
The update focuses mainly on quality‑of‑life improvements, refinements to Apple’s on‑device intelligence features, and under‑the‑hood fixes rather than headline‑grabbing additions. Early reports from developers testing the Beta 2 highlight stability enhancements, minor UI polish in system apps, and tweaks to developer APIs that should improve widget behavior, notifications, and interactions with third‑party apps.
One area of refinement appears to be Apple Intelligence, where contextual understanding in apps such as Mail, Messages, and Notes is reportedly being tuned for better suggestions and responses. The Beta 2 also patches known issues affecting connectivity including Bluetooth and CarPlay and addresses occasional background task inefficiencies seen in earlier builds.
As usual, the iOS 26.4 Developer Beta 2 is only available to registered Apple developers and requires a developer beta profile. A public beta is expected to follow shortly via Apple’s public beta program once initial bugs are ironed out.
