Apple has released the iOS 26.3 developer beta (and followed up with Beta 2) to registered developers as part of the ongoing beta testing cycle for the upcoming iOS 26.3 update. The second beta build is labeled 23D5103d and is available through the Settings → Software Update screen for enrolled devices.
This beta cycle follows the first developer beta seeded in mid-December 2025, shortly after the release of the iOS 26.2 update. Apple is also rolling out corresponding betas for iPadOS 26.3, watchOS 26.3, tvOS 26.3, visionOS 26.3, and macOS Tahoe 26.3.
Key Features & Changes Being Tested
iPhone-to-Android Transfer Tool
iOS 26.3 introduces a new cross-platform transfer tool that makes it easier to move from an iPhone to an Android device. Users can now initiate the transfer of photos, messages, notes, apps, passwords, phone number, and more directly from the iPhone setup process without requiring a separate app.
Notification Forwarding (EU)
To comply with new regulations under the EU’s Digital Markets Act, iOS 26.3 adds a Notification Forwarding feature that allows users to forward iPhone notifications to select third-party accessories like Android smartwatches. This can be configured under Settings → Notifications, although only one accessory can be paired at a time and the Apple Watch will not receive notifications while forwarding is active.
Weather Wallpapers & UI Enhancements
The beta splits the Weather wallpaper category into its own dedicated section in the Lock Screen gallery, offering more weather-themed presets and varied font and widget styles.
Background Security Improvements
Another major focus in iOS 26.3 betas is the continued testing of Background Security Improvements, a feature for delivering security patches for Safari, WebKit, and key system libraries outside regular full releases. These updates can be installed manually or automatically via Settings, helping Apple roll out fixes more swiftly between major updates.
