Samsung’s Galaxy S27 lineup may split into two distinct looks, according to a new set of case images shared by Ice Universe. The photos show protective cases for all four expected models, the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra, and suggest the two premium models get a different rear design from the standard pair.
| Model | Camera layout shown on the case |
| Galaxy S27 | Separate vertical camera openings |
| Galaxy S27+ | Separate vertical camera openings |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | Large horizontal camera island |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | Larger horizontal camera island |
The S27 and S27+ keep the familiar Galaxy look, with individual openings stacked vertically and no big camera plateau. The S27 Pro and S27 Ultra instead carry a prominent rectangular island across the top of the back, and the Ultra’s appears larger to fit its more advanced camera hardware. The Pro has been described as a more compact take on the Ultra, and Ice Universe previously said the Ultra keeps the S Pen while the Pro doesn’t have one.
This builds on the Ultra’s camera redesign seen in earlier renders, and on the case leak that raised a camera mystery around the Ultra’s laser autofocus. A screen protector leak has also shown how the four phones differ in size.
The design has drawn comparisons to the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera plateau, and some Samsung fans have been unkind about it. Samsung splitting its lineup this way would also mirror how Apple separates its standard and Pro iPhones. The case images don’t show whether the Pro and Ultra have built-in magnets, a possibility that has come up in earlier rumors.
The Galaxy S27 series is expected in early 2027, with January or February the most likely window.
