Apple has introduced HomeView, its first dedicated smart-home display, at the “Welcome Home” event it announced earlier this month. The device pairs a 7-inch touchscreen with Siri AI, FaceTime and smart-home controls, and it’s built to be shared by a whole household. Pre-orders open today, and according to Apple’s announcement, availability begins November 13.
Display, design and sound
HomeView uses a 7-inch Liquid Retina display attached to a domed speaker base by a stainless steel hinge, so the screen can tilt to suit tabletops of different heights. Automatic brightness runs from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits for nightstand use, and the interface shows simpler information from across the room and more detail as you step closer. Inside is the A18 chip.
Audio comes from two full-range drivers in the display plus a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators in the base. A separate wall-mounted model has the same display but no base, with sound tuned for on-wall placement. The tabletop version comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, while the wall-mounted version is limited to space gray and silver.
Siri AI and personal profiles
HomeView is built around Siri AI, which Apple says is powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence. It’s labeled a beta in HomeView software version 27.2 and works in English in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. Pairing an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad unlocks personal context, such as Calendar and Messages, while users without one still get Siri AI’s general knowledge and conversational abilities. Conversations started on HomeView can continue in the Siri app on other Apple devices.
The display recognizes up to six people by face and gives each their own Home Screen with apps and widgets. Content from Messages and Calendar only appears when the enrolled user is recognized and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and recently unlocked. Apple says camera and microphone data are processed in Secure Exclaves on the A18, separate from the rest of the system.
Smart-home and communication features
On the home side, HomeView can control lights, thermostats, locks and blinds by touch or voice, and its Home Camera face can livestream up to nine camera feeds at once. It works with Matter and Works with Apple Home accessories, and can alert you on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch when it hears a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm. Person, pet, package and vehicle recognition from compatible cameras requires an iCloud+ subscription.
FaceTime calls use Center Stage to keep people framed as they move around the room. HomeView also supports Intercom across HomeView and HomePod speakers, step-by-step recipes with hands-free timers, and playback from Apple Music, Podcasts and compatible third-party apps.

Apple Home Collection
Apple also announced Apple Home Collection, a lineup of accessories made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Everything is set up with a tap from an iPhone, managed in the Home app, and supports Thread. Availability begins in December, with select accessories following in early 2027.

The smart lock is Matter compatible and unlocks automatically as you approach with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, using Ultra Wideband. HomeView’s biggest dependency is the Apple ecosystem: full personal Siri AI and camera features lean on an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and an iCloud+ plan, so it’s aimed squarely at households already invested in Apple’s devices.
