About a couple of weeks after Samsung released the fifth beta of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung rolled out One UI 9 Beta 6 to the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, starting in India before spreading to Germany, Poland, the UK, and South Korea, with the US expected to follow. At around 851.54MB, it’s a chunky download for what’s mostly a bug-fix release, but that’s exactly the point at this stage.
The changelog covers four specific fixes: a display error on the Now Brief widget, a Home screen display issue, a Camera widget glitch, and a more notable one involving Expert RAW, where images shot at certain focal lengths in 24MP mode were reportedly saving inconsistently. Nothing flashy, just Samsung cleaning up problems people were actually running into. The update also brings the August 5 security patch along with it, so there’s a real security reason to install this even without new features.

There is one small quality-of-life addition worth knowing about, though. Beta 6 apparently adds a toggle under Settings, Display, Edge panels called “Touch and hold for AI select,” letting you disable the long-press gesture that triggers AI Select while keeping the rest of the Edge Panel working. If you’ve been annoyed by accidentally launching AI Select while just trying to open your Edge Panel, this fixes exactly that.
Samsung hasn’t said whether this is the last beta before stable software ships, and honestly, the heavy focus on fixes rather than features suggests Samsung’s getting close, but that’s not confirmation of anything. If you’re on the beta already, this one’s worth grabbing for the security patch and the Expert RAW fix alone.
