Xiaomi just confirmed the number everyone in the mid-range space is going to be talking about 9,000mAh. The Redmi Note 17 Pro is launching in China on July 14, 2026, and ahead of that date Xiaomi has officially locked in several key specifications, with the battery being the headline that makes everything else worth paying attention to.
The 9,000mAh cell uses silicon-carbon technology, branded by Xiaomi as “Jinshajiang,” which achieves higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion graphite batteries. The practical result is a much larger capacity without a proportionally thicker phone. It’s also earned TÜV SÜD Five-Star Battery Quality Certification, covering durability and safety. Charging comes in at 67W wired, with 22.5W reverse wired charging confirmed meaning the Note 17 Pro can charge accessories or another phone directly via cable.

The display is officially a 1.5K flat OLED panel with 3,500 nits peak brightness and a 1-nit minimum for comfortable dark-environment viewing. Green Mountain Eye Protection technology is included, which is Xiaomi’s branding for its PWM dimming and eye comfort features. Durability gets serious treatment with IP69K water and dust resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top.
Unconfirmed but widely leaked specs point to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, a roughly 6.83-inch display, a 200MP main camera, and HyperOS on Android 16. None of that is official yet.
