Nothing has officially confirmed that its upcoming phone is called the Phone (4b), and it’s coming sooner than most people expected. July 7 is the launch date, with India and global markets getting it simultaneously. The announcement came through Nothing’s social channels alongside an official Flipkart microsite, which also signals this will be a Flipkart-exclusive launch in India, following the same pattern as the Phone (4a).
The design sketch Nothing shared alongside the announcement is where things get interesting. An earlier teaser hinted at a single rear camera, which raised a few eyebrows given where the mid-range market sits competitively right now. The new sketch tells a different story. There’s a pill-shaped vertical camera module sitting inside a rectangular camera island, and it looks large enough to house more than one sensor. A separate pill-shaped cutout sits next to it, which appears to be home to the LED flash and an autofocus sensor, likely a laser AF unit based on the positioning.

There’s also a horizontal strip running across the camera island that immediately recalls the lighting element from the Phone (4a). Whether this is a functional light strip or purely a design detail hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Nothing has a history of making these elements actually do something, so it would be surprising if it were purely cosmetic.
