The Android-to-Apple file transfer wall is quietly coming down. Quick Share’s cross-platform feature is now rolling out to the Galaxy S24 and S25 lineups, plus foldables no cable, no app, no drama.
Ask any iPhone user why they won’t switch to Android and AirDrop usually comes up within the first 30 seconds. The ability to wirelessly drop a photo or file to someone nearby instantly, no app needed has been one of Apple’s stickiest ecosystem advantages for years. Samsung just got a lot closer to matching it.
Via a Quick Share update bundled in the One UI 8.5 beta, Galaxy phones can now send and receive files directly with iPhones, iPads, and Macs wirelessly, with no third-party apps involved.

Which Galaxy phones are getting it
If you own a Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold 6/7, or Z Flip 5/6, open Samsung Members, check for the One UI 8.5 beta, and enrol if you’re comfortable with beta software. If you’d rather wait for a stable build smart call just keep an eye on Samsung’s update schedule over the next few weeks. Either way, this one’s coming to your phone soon.
