Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold sells out minutes after US launch

Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold, the company’s first tri-folding smartphone, was officially launched in the United States on January 30, 2026, and sold out almost instantly after going on sale.

The device went live on Samsung’s website and selected Samsung Experience Stores at 10 AM ET, and within about 20 minutes all available stock was marked as out of stock, with many buyers unable to complete orders.

Priced at $2,899 in the US for the 512 GB model and offered in Crafted Black, the Galaxy Z TriFold combines the portability of a phone with a 10-inch tri-folding display when fully opened, the largest screen in Samsung’s foldable lineup.

Under the hood, the phone packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, 16 GB RAM, a 5,600 mAh battery with 45 W fast charging, and a high-end camera system featuring a 200 MP primary sensor alongside telephoto and ultrawide modules.

The limited availability contributed to the rapid sell-out. Industry reports indicate Samsung produced only a small number of units globally, which has led to shortages in countries where it has already launched including South Korea and other regions last year and now in the US.
