Galaxy S26 Ultra could get built in Privacy Screen

Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung has officially teased a new hardware-based privacy display for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series, aimed at stopping “shoulder surfing” where people nearby can glimpse your screen content along with reports that the lineup will start with 256 GB of base storage instead of 128 GB.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series will introduce a privacy display feature that limits viewing angles at the pixel level, helping keep sensitive information hidden from people looking from the side. Rather than relying on external privacy films, this feature is integrated into the display hardware itself and can selectively hide parts of the screen such as notifications, password fields, and specific apps while keeping the rest of the view normal for the primary user.

According to Samsung’s official teaser, the tech works by making content clear when viewed head-on but much harder to read from angled views, reducing the chance of anyone nearby catching private information in public spaces like buses, trains, or cafés. The privacy display settings will be customisable, allowing users to adjust visibility and even auto-activate for specific apps or situations.

This feature appears tied to a new type of OLED panel, likely Samsung’s Flex Magic Pixel technology, which manipulates individual pixels to narrow effective viewing angles without the brightness and quality loss typical of screen protectors.
