A report from respected tipster Digital Chat Station has surfaced suggesting that Apple plans a significant front-design change for the iPhone 18 Pro (expected in 2027). The leak focuses on Apple’s next move in Face ID and front-facing sensor design, which could finally overhaul the current Dynamic Island approach.
Under-Display Sensor Possibilities

According to the leak:
- The iPhone 18 Pro may not keep the current Dynamic Island cutout that debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro series.
- Apple could either use a miniaturized Dynamic Island (much smaller than existing designs) or adopt a new under-display sensor array for Face ID and the front camera.
- An under-display solution would mark the first major iPhone screen design change in years, removing the need for any visible cutout at the top of the display.
