Nothing OS 4.0 Update Rollout Reportedly Paused to Implement ‘Urgent’ Fix

Nothing OS 4.0 Update Rollout Reportedly Paused

Nothing has reportedly paused the rollout of its Android 16–based Nothing OS 4.0 update after early users began reporting serious bugs and system issues. According to multiple community posts and leaked support responses, the company halted the update to implement what it describes as an “urgent fix.”

The stable version of Nothing OS 4.0 had only just started rolling out to supported devices when users began noticing problems. In several cases, the update reportedly disappeared from the system update menu after initially being available. Some users who managed to install the update complained about UI glitches, broken animations, Wi-Fi and mobile data issues, and unexpected system instability. A few extreme cases even suggested boot-loop and soft-bricking problems.

A leaked response from Nothing’s customer support confirms that the update has been temporarily removed from the rollout schedule. The message states that the company identified a critical issue that requires immediate fixing before continuing with the public release. Users who have already updated to Nothing OS 4.0 are expected to receive a corrective patch once testing is complete, while others will get the fixed version when the rollout resumes.

So far, Nothing has not issued a public statement through its official blog or social media channels. However, reports indicate that multiple models, including newer Nothing phones, are affected by the pause.

There is currently no confirmed timeline for when the update rollout will restart. Until then, users are being advised to wait for the official fixed build rather than attempting manual installations.
