Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25 in San Francisco, according to a report from Money Today. The date marks a slight delay compared to the S25’s January launch, but it still arrives earlier than many expected.
An insider explained that Samsung chose San Francisco again because it’s the center of AI innovation. This aligns with the company’s focus on next-gen AI features, which VP Danie Araujo says will play a big role in the new Galaxy S26 lineup.
Samsung initially planned a major lineup change, replacing the base model with a Pro version and reviving the Edge name for the Plus variant. However, with limited demand for slim devices, Samsung decided to stick with the standard, Plus, and Ultra models, a move that reportedly delayed the launch.

Under the hood, the Exynos 2600 will power most regions, while Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chips are expected in North America, China, and Japan. Despite ongoing production challenges, the Exynos 2600 could outperform Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro chip in certain areas.
Mass production for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to start in December, with the other two models following in January. Based on past timelines, a March release seems likely.
While the delay might disappoint fans, it could mean good news, Samsung is reportedly using the extra time to improve battery life and camera performance.
