Qualcomm is set to unveil its latest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, at the Snapdragon Summit on September 23, 2025. The new platform, officially branded as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, brings major upgrades in performance, efficiency, and AI power.
Built on TSMC’s 3nm N3P process, the chip features an octa-core CPU with peak clock speeds up to 4.7GHz and a new Adreno 840 GPU with advanced ray-tracing support. Qualcomm has also boosted AI capabilities, with leaks pointing to nearly 100 TOPS of processing power.
Early benchmarks show strong results, with Geekbench single-core scores around 3,800 and multi-core results exceeding 12,000, putting it close to Apple’s latest A-series chips. On AnTuTu, reported scores reach over 4.2 million, marking a significant leap from the previous generation.

The first phones powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will include the Xiaomi 17 series, while Samsung and other brands are expected to follow soon after. Consumers can expect improved gaming, smarter camera processing, better battery efficiency, and faster 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity once devices hit the market in late 2025.
